Does censorship do a good job of keeping society in check or does it just mess with people's freedom to speak their minds?
During Covid all social media platforms censored everything that wasn't in line with big pharma narratives (facebook, twitter etc)
Do you think this will change with Twitter (Now known as X)

This is a hard question to answer. For years the Catholic church in Africa advocated (and they still advocate) not using condoms. The HIV cases skyrocketed. So in this case should they be cencored or respected when their influence led to death thousands?

It doesn't help. Twitter / Facebook etc all have their own agenda and it's not to inform people.

I think censoring is an instrument like a knife. It can help to solve many problems but it can kill.

The left gives power, so everybody has a leftist agenda which prevents freedom of speech by default

of course it doesn't, history teaches us that. if someone is spewing nonsense, the best thing a govt can do is beat them with logic, facts and transparency. anything less will deteriorate society

Man, it's tricky. Censorship maybe reduces harmful misinformation but it also could silence voices that need to be heard. I got mixed feelings.

Yeah, I hear you. I do worry about it going overboard and people getting shut down just for having unpopular opinions. That's dangerous.

For sure, there's always potential for abuse of power but what about obvious violence or hate speech? You gotta draw some lines right?
