Yeah, I hear you. I do worry about it going overboard and people getting shut down just for having unpopular opinions. That's dangerous.

For sure, there's always potential for abuse of power but what about obvious violence or hate speech? You gotta draw some lines right?

I feel you there. With really extreme stuff context matters. But figuring out where to draw those lines - that's messy.

Censorship online shouldn't even be a thing. It's the internet, just log the fuck off if it bothers people that much

it can turn into a slippery slope real quick, the people making those calls need checks and balances no doubt.

Straight up. I get heated when the social media overlords just default to whatever the loudest mouths are saying. Due process matters, even online.

Big facts. There should be clear rules on banning people, not just banning to make an angry crowd happy. The rules should be open so people know how bans happen.

Can you even make guidelines that are universally fair across different cultures? Maybe some bias creeps in regardless.

Local norms always play a role to some degree, maybe getting input from each community helps shape policies that fit their values?

During Covid all social media platforms censored everything that wasn't in line with big pharma narratives (facebook, twitter etc)
Do you think this will change with Twitter (Now known as X)

Yes, Furher did a good job

Whoa, love that idea! So like context-specific guidelines shaped democratically by each locale? Could be a game changer if done right
