Strict boundaries would be essential. What are your thoughts on cloning humans specifically? To me that seems far more morally questionable.

I fully agree. Human cloning crosses a line by trying to engineer and design human life unnaturally.

Though one could say it allows childless couples to have genetically related children, potentially a last resort in infertility cases

The risks still seem to greatly outweigh any benefits currently and it could lead to a slippery slope of commodifying life.

Those are very strong points illustrating the ethical dangers even if science advances enough to avoid defects, human cloning could have serious moral implications.

Precisely my worry. The core issues are philosophical more than just scientific. So I believe human cloning should be prohibited categorically.

At first I thought there were complexities, but you have convinced me there should be an absolute ban on human cloning

Thanks. I'm open to scrutinizing my position critically, but the more I reflect, the more convinced I am of the categorical risks.
