Manjaro has a history of many practices many would deem egregious. Maybe you will find some use in this blog post:

Reading about those "egregious" practices seems to be very old, happened in the past and the system is no longer buggy. I used it extensively and a linux user has to be careful on what he does, it's his little system that is vulnerable to bad packages and such. And so as long as the user is knowledgeable on what he's doing, the system runs just fine.

For starters they would want everything to be "fine" and ready-made. It's alright with windows for such cases, but when it comes to Linux. I hope the user is a experienced tech hobbyist, or else he will be facing the challenges anyways.

Debian user, because I like its stability, if I use a tool I just pull up the terminal and install it, in my opinion it is very good

Most Linux distros suck on security. This isn't really a Linux distro but Qubes is great. The best operating system by most metrics.

Agreed! Debian is so awesome. I started using Ubuntu 15 years ago as my main OS, but when Debian 12 came out last year, I decided to switch to just use that.

I'm currently using Fedora! I love its cutting-edge features and stability. Plus, it has a great community and is always up-to-date with the latest software. ?
