I had a really old laptop that can only run Windows 7. I tried installing arch linux manually (writing commands by hand) and when i restarted the laptop it gets corrupted and i had to install again (i think the hard disk was the issue)

Tried one time, this is pain in the ass

I'm quite comfortable with Ubuntu and Debian, using Manjaro as my daily OS and I wanted to learn more about Linux in depth, spent 2 hours watching a tutorial just to build the base of the OS and I missed something so it didn't work and I stopped

However, for whoever wants to dive into Linux this is a great challenge

How does it go for you ? Did you success ?

It will take some time on "very shit laptop" but good luck

I never tried but one day I will do it, most likely just for fun

LFS is a good way to learn about Linux. It's not that hard as every step is documented, but it may take some time.
