it bring up significant issues, particularly around consent and privacy. They can hurt people and misrepresent the truth but they also reflect the remarkable advancements in artificial intelligence and where we might be headed in the near future

One thing I will say though is that crimes similar in severity to this are usually given a slap on the wrist here, so if perpetrators think they can still live a normal life afterwards there’s really no incentive to not do it (in addition to whatever deranged reasons they wanted to in the first place) :/
