So it's a really good question. These days I like to use Manjaro KDE to start, cause their setting manager is actually fairly decent particularly when dealing with multiple hardware's on the same drive. But then I rip out a bunch of stuff and selectively add certain repos from arch proper and a few other arch based distros that have bits I want. I end up with more tools than kali, more stable hardware support than arch itself. It requires knowing whats on your system and what to update from where, but it's not entirely complicated to do that if you have the time. Stable, and works on everything I plug them into generally speaking.

My second favorite (perhaps all time) is Slackware 13.37 (http://www.slackware.com/announce/13.37.php) but then shoved over to slackware current for package updates. I still have a few of these laying around, and they are rock freaking solid.

As many said, it depends on the goal:

- Servers: Debian (considering that services are deployed using Docker or K8s)
- Personal use: Manjaro, but anything that is (a serious) rolling release distro, Gentoo, Arch, whatever...
- Hacking: Parrot
- Grandmas: Elementary, Pop!_Os

Never tried Endeavor... I have to give it a try...

Arch BTW, I have been looking into nix I'm just too lazy to set it up looks like a really great OS. Parrot for doing HTB labs and shit because I dont want shell shock when i have to use parrot for HTB exams
