Forum usernames are already case sensitive owing to the core design of MyBB.

Taking a look at the source code for the shoutbox-asd123.js plugin however sheds light at the problem.

The RegExp which handles username mentions in the shoutbox is responsible for the issue.

new RegExp(`@(${ l ?? username })([^w-]|$)`, 'i').test(o)

Fixing this would require a simple modification to the RegEx expression to ignore case when evaluating usernames.

I still don't understand why extremely simple fixes and tweaks like this aren't being implemented.
