Just buy xmr and exchange it for bitcoin again. Recent attempts by the US govt to take out xmr from exchanges show it's is pretty safe despite some claiming it’s partially traceable.

You can't clean cryptos. Use Monero and your own local monero node.

i have one piece of advice that i havent seen
don't do it all at once.
If you have 15k worth of btc and you convert it to xmr then cashout at once, sure the crypto trail will be untraceable but it will look very weird to the feds that you happened to get 15k in your bank account

Although crypto transactions are considered trustworthy, they can be monitored through exchanges. How do you make your cryptos cleaner. you dont have to go the risk of exchanging it to cash just convert it to monero and use it normally.
there are sites like moneromarket.io where you can just use it normal.
