it's good as a starter language, it's kinda a jack of all trade's kinda language. It doesn't really serve as the best option for anything, but at the same time it offers a easy syntax and allows you to write just about anything with ease. Only fields it struggles in is performance critical applications, in which I would use Rust, or Go

It's in true that hundreds of lines of something like... Apache, could be condensed into about 10 lines in Python? Or am I thinking Java?

It's a lot easier to learn than Java, plus you can do so much more in fewer lines of code.
