i was checking my speeds today and my device is over 10x faster than my router. how is this even possible. anyone have any answers and can help?

1.) Internet service is often rated differently for download and upload speeds. Make sure you're looking at the right metrics.
2.) Your router isn't going to put a hard cap on your performance, nor is it gonna explode if it's getting slightly better speeds than it's rated for.

some retail routers will struggle if you are pushing 700mbps + , if you want to go cheap , grab a Mikrotik rb3011 or get a zimaboard / single board pc and chuck openwrt on it .
