Why would anyone use BTC over XMR?

Why use BTC in any case over XMR?
Do people really only use BTC for the rarity and hype.
I don't really get the hype around BTC. It is an open block-chain visible to everyone. BTC has high transaction fees.
Every Bitcoin halving makes the transaction fees only higher. It has a fixed amount and was the first crypto.
Is that the reason? So does XMR also need a rarity factor for broader adoption?

BTC perks:
First crypto
Rare

XMR perks:
anonymity
small transation fees
rather stable value before the coinbase delesting

I've seen some people prefer giving their victims the ability to pay with BTC because its easier to obtain by the average user, way easier than XMR. BTC machines, and many websites allow you to buy it quickly. so it won't be a challenge. As for XMR, you would need to singup, verify your id on an exchange and binance for example is going to delist XMR soon, so it will be more difficiult to obtain.

Monero (XMR) offers strong privacy and faster transactions compared to Bitcoin (BTC)

You can buy with a bank transfer with dfx.swiss or selling on DEXs like bisq. So no it's not more difficult than buying any crypto
