Nobody does at first, but the verbosity comes in handy once you get a hang of the language

Well, I want to learn C# because the .NET framework looks very interesting, and also because this language can make some simple applications (such as an autoclicker, osu!, and so on). Also, I prefer C# than Python because I don't really like how python works: it needs hundreds of libraries to actually make a good program, it's extremely slow, compiling code is annoying, a compiled python program has a huge file size, etc... Moreover, when you download python code from GitHub, you always have to download requirements and it gets easily annoying. I don't know if it's clear, but maybe you can understand why I prefer c# compared to other programming languages.
And also, yes, I already have a small programming experience because I can script in Lua, which is a huge advantage for learning C# because these two languages have a kinda similar syntax, so it's easier and faster for me to learn C#.

I get that. .NET certainly has its applications (especially professionally - while go and rust are objectively great the corporate world is slow as shit and there is much more demand for .NET than go or rust and there most likely will be for a while to come). I get your complaints about python, but there are certainly times in which it has advantages over C#. I really don't think the language you learn initially matters all that much, just that you get familiar with the core concepts and stay out of bad habits. Once you feel like you've gotten a handle on C#, you'll find it much easier to learn the other languages people are mentioning in this thread.

Glad to hear you already have experience with Lua scripting. It helps, but expect to face more blockers with C# than you did with Lua. So long as you have a goal and keep pushing you'll be fine.

Have you started going through some C# resources? How has that been going?

Once you started to code in rust, you will love it especially its compiler.
