same feeling here. Really didn't like it atfirst. I found it to be a huge learning curve but once it clicks. Everything starts coming together and it becomes like little pieces to a big puzzle. And like you said you start wanting to learn more and it becomes really enjoyable. But yeah just the idea of creating something from scratch that is yours, there's something really special about that.
But also, I feel like coding will come in a person's own time. My dad literally couldn't pay me to code a project. He literally offered me money if I learned how to build a website but I just couldn't do it. Whereas today that would've been the easiest money I ever made, back then it felt like climbing a mountain. I eventually went to school for comp sci but even then, the understanding of concepts didn't come to me until my second last year. So basically all in due time. He'll find his way to programming eventually. We all do!
