Most lenovo laptops are a great choice. Go for a Thinkpad, X1, or maybe even T14.

I was gonna say Lenovo X1 is a good shout too. Good price!

I can back this up. The new ThinkPads are really solid systems. You can't go wrong with a X or P series. Used machines can be bought on eBay or from system integrators for a low price if you don't mind a computer that is slightly used and a generation or two behind. I love my X1 Extreme to death. Install Fedora and enjoy a nice computing experience. And the keyboard is also very good.

I settled for a refurbished X1 over Xmas, for a great price and I tell you something, either the previous owner really looked after the thing, or it's just a solid piece of tech (probably both)
