Cool Am thinking of having some cryptos stored offline away from exchanges.
There are a lot of vendors including LEDGER, etc.  Which do you recommend and why?
Thanks in advance Undecided

Do you think it's a good idea to carry your assets around in real life? It can be stolen, the feds can use it against you. I don't know man...

Ofcourse, you have to take your assets offline if you expect issues with exchanges. Issues can arise impromptu.

This is a good, cheap idea- using normal flash drives. I think manufacturers of crypto storage wallet add other things extra in their hardware. A simply flash drive can stop working or easily be infected by virus and trojans

You can just AES encrypt the private key multiple times,
use a password you can remember md5 the password duplicate 3 times as Secret Key.
printouts of some copy of the encrypted private key,
plastic seal it and put it in multiple Strongbox in multiple location .
This is very cheap and much much much more safer then any cold wallet in the universe.

Why a hardware wallet and not for example a Veracrypt encrypted USB? What's the added value?

Veracrypt encrypted is a good idea. But how about virus and infections? An ordinary usb can easily be infected
