Hey guys!
I just wanted to see what is better as far as opsec? I'm not going to be storing any malicious/illicit files, or even really DN browsing so I don't need the ability to hide/destroy the data. I'm wondering if I have to worry about going through the effort of imaging a USB to boot from? Are there any additional security benefits that I am overlooking?
I believe a VM is just more convenient, but I don't want to miss out on any security features.

USB: Tails
VM: Qubes os using the Whonix qube build into the os

Set up a VM with Whonix with the right network preferences and preferably Mullvad VPN

Some extra tweaks (Tor bridge, encryption, etc.) would be great but that-s enough. Like Lotus said just use a live USB when you have no choice

I think any of the methods you use will be the right one. In fact the problem is not in the tools you will use but how and why you will use them. It is better to have a good habit of isolating and compartmentalizing your habits and activities like the concept of qubeos but you appropriate it mentally and then you can use any tool because your habits will be safety-oriented, you can only have good choices. It's the mental position that counts.
