Thoughts about AI and how fast it's progressing?

I mean ChatGPT came out of nowhere and blew up. More followed in it's wake and it is possible to request it to write parts of a very advanced virus and then stitch the parts together to create an advanced virus. So thoughts about this and the the possible scenario of an AI singularity?

I think it's a great thing personally, it's human advancements and at such a rapid rate. It's already greatly helping online with programming and other factors, and when it evolves it will be even better. IMO it's a thing to celebrate instead of dread.

Honestly I mostly agree with this text. China will probably scramble to create it's advanced AI model now that OpenAI has pulled out of China. Chinese corporations are known to buy stakes in Tech companies in America. But I'm really happy that the same hasn't happened with OpenAI

I haven't found a great use case for it at my job, but I love playing with it

I think its blown way out of proportion how it will take all our jobs. It can be useful for some little tasks, for example I use it for tedious crap like "find me the domains in this list of domains that contain the name of any car parts manufacturer worldwide".

It might replace some junior-level jobs, but it will always require monitoring and fine-tuning for all its tasks so some humans will always have to be employed for that part

AI should be doing all the menial stuff, not enabling talentless tech bros thinking they've got an entrance into the art world.

Most people don't understand how big of a deal it is.
This is like living during the industrial revolution with the fast-forward button held down.
My advise, save all the money you can while we're still lucky enough to have 40 hour a week jobs.

Not a fan. Too many people have lost jobs to it already, it's just not worth it.
