there are some dogshit brands to avoid like alienware, and asus have been doing dodgy consumer practices recently, but tbh it doesn't really matter much for people buying low or mid range laptops. idk what the case is for high end laptops cos i don't have that kind of money

I got the HP Dev One when I had the chance. It will last me many more years; its a phenomenal laptop imo. Next time though I'm getting a 16:10 display.
