With telegram potentially losing all privacy in the future, what are some good alternatives?

You can use any method of communication if you encrypt messages

But won't that alternative just get mowed up by some corpo (again)

Tired of having to change platforms coz they keep getting owned by absolute cunts, who i'd rather not hand my personal info over to

Not sure about the alternative but in order to beat the system we need to be able to adapt fast.

Telegram knows your phone number and the IP address you used to go online. Is it a problem to buy a SIM card under a different name in your country?

Am I really going to waste my daily 10 posts on this thread? Sigh...

Telegram is a legitimate business. The owner even though Russian has French citizenship and was arrested in France after the president there apparently invited him to dinner as a bait to arrest him.
I think the topic of discussion here should really be on the "telegram potentially losing all privacy in the future" portion of your thread, instead of 20 pages of people saying signal. We need to have a topic on whether you're actually dumb enough to believe something like that would actually happen. How can a *social media messaging* platform, lose all it's privacy? Something like that would be an absolute outrage. Law enforcement probably just need some help tracking down a set number of organisations who use telegram, they can't view everyone's messages for no reason, there's something called probable cause, intent, etc. What you're referring to is literally like someone doing an sql injection on telegram and slapping the db with all the chat logs unencrypted on their desk, never going to happen not allowed. They don't want everyone because they can't get everyone, they just want a couple of the big fish.

me using the word president is intentional </isitbadopsec?>

You can use signal, but even that will eventually find it's way into subpoenas. It's run by the Signal Group out of the USA so it's a liability. Carrier pigeons can be liabilities as well. Might just have to meetup in person in the future or build your own from scratch. Honestly though XMPP or Session are probably your best bet.
