was on parrot team for a long time till the applications start crashing and giving compile errors, moved to kali and until this day its better then parrot, I also use Commando VM for windows aplications

Choose Linux distro is not really easy.
I've on Parrot from some years for conception and security features (no root by default, firejail implemented...). Now they are implemented in Kali, and in opposite, I prefer Gnome on Kali to Mate on Parrot. Qubes is also nice ! For old school generation, Pentoo is also cool
