Exactly, most optimizations sacrifice some decentralization, security or privacy. Faster and cheaper is enticing but can mean hidden costs. Monero prioritizes privacy over all else.

for a privacy first chain, I'll take slightly slower and steadier. Some concessions enable true fungibility and censorship resistance. at the end it depends on use case priorities.

I think so too. Selective or third-party privacy options are better than nothing but still allow targeting. Monero bakes privacy into its protocol. Huge distinction.
