Insane what Microsoft allowed to happen to Skype. Used to be a term synonymous with online voice/video calls and seems like they squandered the whole brand while developing a competing product in Teams. Maybe there's some reasoning I just don't see.

Finally. I've been waiting this for years. I never use Skype, but by default Windows install it and always bugging me at startup.

just fix it in Skype's settings... doesn't it work? or does it ask to be your deault app all the time like IE?

Skype used to be my go to in-terms of video calls, good thing there are better apps for video calls like whatsapp etc.

i remember myself FIGHTING with Skype to talk to people with video, not understanding why it wasn't working ......

It's about time. My teams logs still have the word "skype" embedded in them, so it'll never really go away.

skype for business had lync embedded in it, and the lync executable was still named OCS from office communicator.

skype was already dead for long timne.
