listen the way i see it is that i'm going to assume that it is and just use it on a vm. thats the smartest thing to do. a backdoor doesnt mean the software its self doesnt function. so by using a vm you can freely use the program without any worry.

its hard to tell because metasploit its self is a backdoor in a sense if you think about it. windows defender flags offensive cyber security tools as trojans because it doesnt understand the difference between they key and the mold so to speak

i was thinking the same thing, also, it looks like after some manual auditing its just copying some license files, you download the actual exectuable from metasploit itself but yea i;; still be running this in a disposable vm
