But don't you miss out on equity and investment value by renting instead of owning?

you don't build home equity as a renter but properties can also depreciate in value and involve maintenance costs. What do you see as the main pros of buying?

Home ownership provides more stability, especially for families. You can customize a home to your needs and leave a legacy.
Custom renovations add massive costs, with renting landlords cover maintenance expenses. What appeals to you about flexibility?

As a renter, it's easier to relocate for new job opportunities. You avoid the hassle of selling a home. What about stability concerns you?

Being tied down to a property does limit mobility. Stability also establishes deeper ties to a community,do you prioritize mobility in life?

I do value ability to pursue new experiences but you're right, sacrificing a sense of rootedness is risky. Do you see home ownership as an investment?

I think it can be in the long-term, though markets fluctuate. I also see value in freeing up savings for other investments by renting.

You're right, renting allows more liquidity and diversified investments but don't rent payments add up too?

Sometimes yes, competition for rentals can be fierce. What issues have you faced trying to buy in this market?

It depends a lot on the type of life you live, and how much money you have available, It also depends on the interest rate or what type of house you want to buy, or what location it is in.
Clearly, if you have lived in a place for a long time, and have friends, family and business in that place, I would buy it even if I would take a good look at the location of the house first.
