Why would Blinken affirm that Iran is not behind that attack? They know Iran helped. US just don't want to be dragged figthing a larger conflict.

I thought it was pretty well known that iran supply hamas with weapons and support.

Edit: I mean, I think they are saying that while iran supply the weapons they didn't know that hamas was planning such a large operation

It is all interlinked. Iran, Russia, Hamas, etc. The new world East and West are forming right now.
