While homeschooling works for some, I worry about oversight and social development without traditional schooling.

Fair concerns. Did you know that many states do have curriculum guidelines and testing requirements for homeschoolers now?

That helps, though I still think socialization is critical during formative years. Homeschooling limits that.
Socializing can happen through local groups, activities and online. Also traditional schools have issues too like bullying, i personally suffered from this and wish i was home schooled.

You raise good points. I hadn't considered supplementary social outlets homeschoolers can utilize.

With effort students can have both academic rigor and healthy socializing through homeschooling and it will  spare you the Trans propaganda they are teaching them

What about sports, clubs and other extracurriculars? Homeschooling seems limiting those

Many communities have sports teams just for homeschool kids actually and activities are abundant if parents seek them out.

I think homeschooling can work out well with competent and intelligent parents. The issue is that if you homeschool children they tend to lack social skills needed to assimilate with other kids and later adults.

A good workaround for that issue is to make sure that your homeschooled kid is usually playing club sports or is doing outside-of-home after school activities with other kids to ensure that they develop those social skills they need to succeed on their own.

If they aren't retarded and have low IQ then yes, I think home schooling removes the childhood from someone. You should be able to experience school, friends and people fucking around to build up who you are. If you don't have any of those you will simply just be a vegetable with a pen and paper..

I didn’t realize infrastructure existed to facilitate homeschoolers involvement. You’ve opened my eyes on this somewhat.
