For me: I'd give it 5/10, easily watchable, but not great.

I've learnt that a 5/10 is worse than the lower numbers, it's a sign that its boring, average.

I'd rather be either good or bad, than just boring and forgettable, even the shit stuff can gain traction.

Not seen it but it doesn't seem like it was necessary. The original script he wrote years ago set in the afterlife sounded more interesting.

Really?? Sounds very very weird.. What kind of fights and struggles can you have in the afterlife? You cannot even kill anyone cause they're all already dead..

So same logic as 'every publicity is a good publicity'?

It was definitely weird sounding, which is why it was never made. But considering the mythology behind the Roman / Greek afterlife, it would have made for an interesting film. It would have involved Maximus fighting through a dark part of Elysium alongside other souls, so that he could be re-united with his dead wife and son in the nicer part of Elysium.

It was written by Nick Cave, so that's why it was so odd.

Considering where Ridley Scott took Alien, an Elysium film wouldn't have been too much of an odd thing, only in hindsight though.
Nick Cave though, he's an odd chap, and was responsible for that Lawless film, where Gary Oldman was pittng as a main cast member, but had about as much screen time in the movie, as he did in the trailers.

Most disappointing.
