I think this studio is overrated! Some of their movies are really boring!

Some of their movies are very vibe-based and dont really have a strong narrative (looking at you Howl's Moving Castle), it's true.
You gotta understand tho that the anime landscape was very different 20 years ago, before easily available subs and torrenting were a thing. Ghibli was the only studio putting out good quality anime movies.
Imagine being an anime fan in 2001 and going from watching badly subbed Digimon Trainers or early Pokemon on TV to watching Spirited Away in theatres.

Most Ghibli movies are at least a 7/10 which is more than most anime studios will ever deliver. I agree that if you dont like slow movies you're probably not going to like 80% of Ghibli though.
