This thread is about the origin of sexual orientation, whether someone is born gay or becomes gay
I think it can be both

I believe sexual orientation is innate - people are born gay or straight. It's who they inherently are, not a choice.

I disagree. Sexuality is influenced by upbringing and environment. People's experiences shape which orientation develops.

Many report feeling attracted to the same sex from a very young age or puberty, suggesting it's biological. My best friend is gay and confirmed this to me too.

Perhaps for some, but psychology and social factors clearly play a huge role in shaping sexuality too.

While influences exist, the consistent biological evidence strongly points to a genetic and prenatal basis underlying orientation.

I'm skeptical of those biological studies. Sexuality is a complex behavioral trait, not just genes.

Nature is involved, things like birth order effect and heritability make a purely social explanation inadequate.

Heritability is debatable and just means genetics play some role, not that they determine orientation. Believe me @Eagle Social factors are key.

Innate, gay sex happens in the animal kingdom, it's natures way to curbing population.
