It's not the only case, there are many similar cases and situations of these sort of things happening. If you are looking for a job in the field, make sure you look at trusted hiring sites and not randoms reaching out to you to hire you (or other sketchy areas). Stay safe!

Sounds like North Korea's doing, they have been social engineering via job offers for a while now, they target (tech) people working at crypto exchanges.
