Hello everyone
I am very excited about switching to linux
and what would you suggest which would be the best choice,
and customization would be important to me because I would like to make a good rice,
and while we're at it, how do you think I can make linux even more secure?

arch is the best for customization but it takes lots of config to make it secure
for general hardening, you get nice tips here: https://github.com/secureblue/secureblue

hiiii
if you’re diving into Linux, I’d say check out Arch Linux or Gentoo for max customization. Pop!_OS and Manjaro are also dope choices if you want something a bit easier to start with but still pretty customizable.

To be m,ore secure, throw a firewall like UFW on and check out AppArmor or SELinux for some solid access control vibes.
For more tips, hit up places like Linux.com and HowtoForge. Happy Linuxing! ✌️

I would also say Arch linux. I have tried other debian based distros such as ubunutu when i started and found it more annoying due to it being more restrictive. I personally would reccomend to use UFW as a firewall and AppArmor. For ricing, not too sure i heard hyprland is popular for this but can not comment on how good it is.

I agree arch is best for ricing. I use the sway window manager. I like the i3 compatibility.
