Not only it can download Youtube videos, it supports plenty of other websites like Twitter, Reddit, Facebook and all!
They have a solid plugin system that updates on it's own. I never had any problems with it.

Like a lot of people here I use yt-dlp but I'm careful to always use a VPN. It might be overkill but you do hear stories of Google's security AI/heuristics freaking out and banning whole orgs for no apparent reason. Losing my gmail would be a major pain.

back then I use to remove the "ube" out of the youtube URL to download videos, it works an it's pretty easy.
you could also try any other free converter tool too.

i was using youtube-dl or yt-dlp at linux and when switched to windows youtube has option to download videos and stored internally to view without download.
also there is telegram bot for downloading from youtube/instagram etc called "Any Video Downloader"

yt-dlp is an easy way to download the files locally. Use the following commands to set it up.
