Im genuinely curious but what precautions do you guys take when going on the 'dark web'  do you guys use a VPN or maybe something that will cover up your trace even more??

a VPN of course, but honestly... the slowness of Tor... reminds of trying to access western sites outside of China's 'Great Firewall'

I use vpn and tor to be more secure, also, I use a virtual machine to download the files I find.

just the normal vpn and if doing other stuff then virtual machines, vpn and tor is usually a good thing to do.
