The concept of "nothing to hide so why use a VPN" is absolutely wrong. Why would you let advertisers, trackers, social sites track your location and bombarded with targeted ads?
Privacy is not about having something to hide, it's about having control over your own information. Even if you don't believe you have anything to hide, there are several reasons why using a VPN at all time if crucial. VPNs encrypt your internet traffic, making it harder for third parties to track your online activity. VPNs mask your IP address, which can be used to track your location and browsing habits. This helps protect your online anonymity and prevent targeted advertising. Most imp: VPNs allow you to bypass censorship and access websites that may be blocked in your region. This can be crucial for accessing information, expressing yourself freely, and staying informed. Hell, Google and Facebook are banned in China so what would you do? Also, you can choose which server to connect to, allowing you to access content from different regions and avoid geo-restrictions. ----- All free VPNs are data farming scumbags - A paid VPN takes money to farm your data, lol. But, there are some reliable VPNs which I mentioned in this topic on the forum a while ago.

The difference between paid and free VPNs is that if the VPN is free, you will probably have a harder time suing them or otherwise doing anything about potential leaked data. Now a paid VPN can be held accountable for leaked data, whatever it may be...in most cases that is..

Ordinary users can use VPN for region-locked content or better security for torrent ,but "privacy" is often a marketing concept. If they have your payment details it's not anonymous.

If you often download torrents, then a VPN is necessary.

i would strongly recommned that you go with mullvad. It is a paid VPN but it's one of the only trusted ones as of now that doesn't suck
