What makes you think it is not safe? Assuring you used installed the torrent from the correct tracker and confirmed its hash value, you should be fine. If you feel as if you want extra security, feel free to block the .exe's of these applications from accessing the internet through your anti-virus/firewall.

If you are using macos, previously i have found useful software from there.
