obviously i think telegram is better known, but signal also has encrypted messages and is anonymous, which one is preferable to use? which one is better? in terms of anonymity and speed

Both are terrible except I've heard Signal is a little better, the but best option is Session as it doesn't require **ANY** persnal information to sign up.

As many have already pointed out, Telegram is not even encrypted by default. Not really sure why it has become the default.

Session does not have forward secrecy. Which means if an adversary was recording ciphertext and later on can access the encryption key through seizing your phone, they will be able to read every message you've sent. Is this mitigated through their onion network? Perhaps, but then again their nodes are much more centralized than for example Tor nodes.

Telegram used to be the way but it seems like its mainly used for shitposting now cause its not as secure. most of the groups i was in have now gone to signal but i prefer Tox overall
