Is there a reason why Google Voice is accepted as verification more than other VOIPs?

As the title asks, I'm seeking some clarity on why Google Voice phone numbers seem to be accepted as verification for new accounts/signups more than other VOIP services.

My only guess is because Google may be considered a more "trusted" source, but from a technology perspective...what makes them more accepted? Appreciate any input

Google is a massive Corporation , they grease the wheels on all regulations.

For example, Tesla tried to change legislation over rear view mirrors on the Cybertruck as they wanted cameras instead.

I mean, what are laws if Corporations think they can just change them for their own reasons to seek profits

If I had to take a guess, it might be that Google uses the same network/provider for GV as they do with their paid Google Fi service. So, anti abuse programs would have to be more accepting of Google numbers.

I'm not fully sure if this is true but it's just something I thought of and would be the most logical explanation. Why would Google use a whole other network/provider for Fi when they can reuse the existing groundwork they've had forever with GV?
Send me a PM if my links are dead. I'll try to reupload as soon as I can.
My only form of contact is through PM, I don't use Telegram or anything else.

Thank you for that input. That makes sense...I just can't understand what the technological differentiator is for other VOIP providers that don't seem to be accepted as a "verified number". But if they have a way of greasing the regulations, I guess I can understand that they have a special loophole they can take advantage of

Interesting...I'm admittedly not very familiar with "Google Fi service" so I'll take a closer look at that. Thank you for the input!

As much as people are gaslit by saying Capitalism is a 'free market', it's really not, it's a game of winners vs losers, all about profits. The fact there are companies who would throw hundreds, maybe thousands of people under the bus for a 0.0000001% rise on a companies gains is just telling of how shoddy and selfish the free market is.

Look again at Tesla, every single thing Musk has put out is just his own passion projects, and anything universally functionable, like an affordable EV sports car.... gets launched into space.

Once again, I think you're spot on with that. And on the part where you say "it's really not" in reference to free-market Capitalism, I think that's personified by the global outage we are seeing today.
