Wikipedia dump seems like a nice start, other nice things I'd put on a offgrid machine (possibly a laptop) are:
- Survival Guides
- Red/Blue/Purple Team Books
- (if you have huge storage, maybe) A Collection of publicly available Leaked/Dumped Databases of any kind
- Offline World-Map
- As a sort of time capsule, maybe some movies/media?

Yeah that's about it Big Grin Would love to hear what others would put on it.

why a collection of that sort?

we all know what type of movies/media would get put on one of those if the average person had the choice  hahaha

Haha, just in case of a apocalypse or for archiving information of the past. Smile

Depends on available storage:
Must have:
A compiler / interpreter for a language you are comfortable with
FFmpeg and a media player
Documentation (Survival, and for all the software you have, that includes cheat sheets)
File encryption tools just in case

Nice to have:
Assorted classical and technical literature
Some media (I recommend tracker music as the modules are tiny and the software to edit and play those is also lightweight, this is to not go insane)
Some sort of basic games such as 2048, Go, Chess. Get FOSS implementations and something that can play against you to keep you from loosing your sanity

Can live without it:
Data you hoarded, this could be anything, including pictures of your cat over the years
