I'm personally against black actors being cast as characters who are white. I'm all for inclusion but in my opinion just changing the character to fit a narrative is lazy. Instead of writing a character who is black they choose to change existing ips to try and cache in and as a way to avoid criticism by screaming racism when someone doesn't like their lazy writing

If it were a different character, I might agree, but what is Snow White's character design? She has skin as white as snow! This conflicts with the casting of an actress of a different ethnicity! It would greatly distract the audience!

What I don't get is why it was never an issue when white actors played other races. It's only an issue now that black actors are doing it

Casting should reflect diversity and creativity. Representation matters, and characters can be reimagined in many ways.

I agree with this statement. Its not about hating that black/female representation is taking over white/male roles, it's absolutely lazy writing.

What if 'character that exists, but black'

what if 'male main role that exists, but female'

it's absolutely 100% lazy writing, does representation a disservice as its easier to replace established characters instead of creating compelling new ones.
