as far as I understand ..... The main difference is the path the request follows. When you use the normal URL, the request leaves your machine and follows the usual Internet paths until it reaches the server, but if you use .onion, when the request leaves your machine, instead of following the usual Internet paths, it passes through a series of nodes in the Tor network before reaching the server. This makes the request much more anonymous than entering without .onion.

The site should be the same, but if you care about privacy or anonymity (you should), TOR is the way.
