nothing really matches initial d but if youre up for reading manga you could read MFGhost which is pretty much the sequel to initial d where the main character drives a new toyota 86

Not as good as Initial D but you can give Appare-Ranman! or Overtake! a go too; definitely doesn't have the same j-pop opening and ending themes :'(

I recommend Over Drive, it's lighter in tone than Initial D but still features exciting racing sequences.
