Dubs don't have as much of the expressiveness of the original VAs. Also, with only using subs I can learn a little bit of Japanese from anime.

Some people feel that dubs are not as authentic as subs. They argue that the original Japanese voice actors are better able to capture the spirit of the anime.

It depends really, there are some animes I can only watch in sub and others in dub. Mostly it depends on which one I first watched it as. I watched Death Note as a dub and don't really like the sub version as a result.

Dubs run the risk of having the wrong tone, and being cheaper/lower quality than the original. And the translations often sound odd, and unnatural.

it depends on the dub some are are good and some are bad if you watch a lot of seasonal anime the dub comes out like 2 months later so most people just watch in sub and get used to it

We also need to observe that the cadence & tone of Japanese is hella different to English, so we can't tell which is 'good' acting, so we just assume it all sounds legit
