This is more of a social case than a political one, in this country the authorities can easily take over any resource and block it (Telegram does not count, because Telegram has been giving out data for a long time). Imagine that you have a cage with monkeys, in the middle of the room there is a ladder on top of which lies a bunch of bananas. As soon as the first monkey climbs for bananas, the rest will be doused with ice water, and this will happen several more times. The next time, as soon as the monkey climbs for bananas, the rest will beat it. 2 monkeys are replaced with new ones and as soon as the new ones try to climb for bananas, they will be beaten by those who have encountered this experience. A week later, the rest of the "old" monkeys will be replaced by new ones and those 2 monkeys will continue the beating. This was a real case, I don't remember the name of the study. But it looks like what is happening in that country.

Seems a little wired why russia would ban discord.. maybe some official got scammed on discord, and got angry and banned them
