Just tried to cook pasta, ended up with a fire alarm concert and a new nickname: 'Chef Disaster.' Guess I’m ordering pizza tonight
So I decided to channel my inner MasterChef today, thinking I could make a simple pasta dish. How hard could it be, right? Well, apparently very hard. First, I boiled water for so long it evaporated like my will to adult. Then, I somehow managed to turn pasta into a solid brick. Like, I’m not even sure if that’s scientifically possible, but here we are. In the process, I set off the fire alarm not once, but twice – so now my neighbors probably think I’m starting a new fire alarm-themed band. I call it Chef Disaster and the Smoke Detectors.
Anyway, long story short, I’ve now ordered pizza and have been banned from my own kitchen by my smoke alarm, which is probably the smartest decision I’ve made all day. Moral of the story: cooking is a dangerous sport and should only be attempted by professionals… or people with very good insurance.
