As the title implies, what did you do to get a grasp on the language? From the very beginning how did you learn the foundation, then from there what projects do you recommend?

First I read the book https://doc.rust-lang.org/book/, then I rewrote some small C programs in Rust and when I was comfortable with the basics, I started writing malware and bigger projects

How long roughly did it take you to get past the basics and start writing your own things?

I converted a few small C programs into Rust. Once I felt confident with the fundamentals, I began developing malware and tackling larger projects

Have fun writing your malware in Python, true that it's suitable for most cases but probably not for this context.
