Thoughts around how open bucket search tools work?

Hello all,

I've been wanting to build some internal OSINT tools for an app that I have an idea for. I see sites like osint[.]sh have these wide ranging open bucket search tools. Initially I was thinking they were getting that data just from Google dorks, or Google Programmable Search API, but I'm seeing thousands of results that I can't seem to find with those methods. Does anyone know how those are working? Could it really be as simple as a brute force job that's running on a server somewhere, collecting the open links? Or is there another method?

Web scraping, Leaked Data, API's, Network Scanning, etc
