SUGGESTION Software VT/alternative mandatory

Posting tools in the software section or other related sections (games, freebies, cracking, so on) should have a mandatory Virus Total or other similar alternative scan attached in the thread.

The software section is brimming with un-moderated malware, a virus total scan with an attached hash would make it very easy for you to simply hash the program and verify that it is the one in the scan, then know with confidence that you are not downloading malware.

In my experience every third post is a trojan installer for a rat, ransomware, stealer or other misc. malware.

Support, although it'd be easy to post a scan of a different executable and try to pass it as the original.
#3
This is already a rule.

9 out of 10 times the OP posts a scan of the archive rather than the actual executable.

Read the middle of the thread, easy to hash a binary and check if it matches the version on the site

Then why dont threads in software get banned? Many of them do not have this implemented

Whatever is apparent or gets reported is taken care of. Not to mention we have new staff including myself that are catching up and will moderate other sections too.

Which makes me wonder that if you came across so many rule violations, why wasn't that reported using the report function?

There should always be a checker available?

I do report them, often I directly tell a moderator in shoutbox to remove the thread as it is quicker. I did not mean anything by it, was just making a suggestion. Everything I have reported either through the report function or directly did not have a VT attached. If it did I could have downloaded the binary, hashed it and confirmed that it is the same one in my VT scan, instead of downloading it and analyzing myself like I did.

Will always support this suggestion and even I had opened a similar request recently.
