How to migrate Windows 10/11 OS to another SSD

Disclaimer: It is highly recommended that you backup your data to an external drive or a secure cloud storage before migrating your Windows 11 OS.

Here’s how to clone your old drive onto your new SSD:
  1. Windows doesn’t have a built-in cloning tool, so grab Macrium Reflect (trial version works fine): macrium.com/reflectfree.
  2. Install the software, ensure both drives are running properly, and launch Reflect. Hit “Clone this disk”, pick the source (old drive) and target (new SSD), then follow the prompts.
  3. When cloning’s done, power off. Boot up—your data should be all there.
  4. Once you’re 100% sure everything transferred and the system’s working just fine, format the old drive and optionally repurpose it for extra storage.

Heads-Up: The Macrium link is safe, but always double-check software and skip any ads or PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs). Stay sharp.

I've used DiskGenius in the past, how would you rate that software compared to Macrium Reflect?

3 things:
First is the country where the software is based in. DiskGenius is based in China making it definitely less trustworthy to just transfer your data from one disk to another. Macrium is based in the UK, and has a strict data protection policy.
Second is the overall rating you'd find online, DiskGenius appears to have big problems with Support, Features, etc. While Macrium is used by large companies and has very good ratings.
And last but not least, the user interface. DiskGenius has an incredibly non-user-friendly UI and many users complain about the design of the entire software. Macrium on the other hand probably has one of the best UIs out of all the disk migrating softwares.

Though this is solely my opinion and my POV.

What if I don't want to install any third-party software? Are there any built-in Windows tools for cloning drives?

No, Windows does not provide you with such software.
