Has anyone ever heard or even used meshtastic, the decentralized unlicensed encrypted radio messaging devices.

Saw a few videos on it and while i don't know a lot about radio technology it sounds cool if you wanted to contact people nearby without using existing communication infrastructure. I could just imagine some people using it to do nearby ground communication or some situation where cell tower/wifi infrastructure goes down for whatever reason.

It's an interesting concept wonder how far you can push it. the issue is being able to build a reliable network in a pinch low power network to get data from point a to b could be interesting this assumes you have the proper licenses to build a tower and what not.

i have some nodes, it is very cool that you can run a variety of TAK clients. great option for any SHTF, plan when there is disruptions in communications
